Rapid-prototyping project around the prompt of augmenting a form of human-powered transportation.
Our team produced a pair of networked crutches that used accelerometers, pressure sensors, and gps to compile a map describing terrain difficulty. This map would then be distributed to other users in the network and used to suggest alternate routes for those on crutches. For added effect, pressure & acceleration values were transmuted into a color range for difficulty that was also reflected in the user interface of the crutches via LED strip.
